Agility is the skill that never stops testing your patience. Once you hit level 92, the conversation narrows to two locations: the lazy, reliable Ardougne Rooftop Course and the high-octane Hallowed Sepulchre. One asks for a podcast and 70,000 XP per hour; the other asks for trap memorization, stamina potions, and the ability to earn 1.6 million GP per hour while training. This guide compares both paths from 92 to 99 so you can pick the one that fits your hands, your bank, and your tolerance for failure.

At 92 Agility you have already passed the worst click-heavy methods. The real decision is whether you want to optimize experience or minimize attention. We will cover requirements, mechanics, XP rates, profit, pet chances, common mistakes, and the exact moment when buying gold or a boosting service becomes the logical time save.

Requirements & Unlocks

Both methods are open to you at level 92, but the Sepulchre has a much longer list of prerequisites. Use this checklist to see where you stand.

Requirements checklist for this comparison
  • Ardougne Rooftop Course: 90 Agility to start (you are 92), no additional stats, graceful outfit optional, summer pies if you want to stop failing obstacles until 95.
  • Hallowed Sepulchre: Sins of the Father completed; 87 Agility to access Floor 5 (you are 92); 66 Thieving (boostable) to loot the Grand Hallowed Coffin on Floor 5; 56 Construction, 54 Prayer, 7 Magic, and 62 Ranged to pass auxiliary obstacles; a Saradomin item equipped to use the run-energy obelisks; 200 hallowed marks for a private instance once you are ready.

You do not need both sets of requirements at once. You can switch between methods day to day. However, the Sepulchre is only accessible after the Sins of the Father quest, which itself has a long quest chain. If you have not completed that quest, Ardougne remains your default.

Ardougne Rooftop Course: The Low-Focus Standard

The Ardougne Rooftop Course sits above the Ardougne marketplace and is the final rooftop course. A perfect lap takes 45.6 seconds (76 ticks) and awards 889 Agility XP. At maximum efficiency that is 70,184 XP per hour. Until 95 Agility, two obstacles can still fail — the gap after the wooden beams and the gap after the plank. At 92, you will occasionally eat a failure. A summer pie boost to 95+ temporarily eliminates those failures, but most players simply accept them.

The course needs no run energy restoration while training, because rooftop courses keep your run energy topped up enough to never slow you down. It also offers marks of grace at a very high rate for a rooftop course, so it remains a popular way to collect them even at 92.

From level 90 to 99, the Ardougne course takes roughly 8,649 laps and 110 hours at the maximum XP rate. Starting at 92 trims that a little, but you are still looking at many dozens of hours. The giant squirrel pet has about a 26% chance to appear over those 90-to-99 Ardougne laps, which is a large chunk of the total pet chance from level 1 to 99 on standard courses.

Hallowed Sepulchre: High-Efficiency Trap Running

The Hallowed Sepulchre is an Agility activity under Darkmeyer with five floors. At 92 Agility you can enter every floor, including Floor 5, which requires 87 Agility. Experience rates depend heavily on whether you loot coffins. Without looting, Floor 5 can deliver about 88,500 XP per hour. If you loot the Grand Hallowed Coffin only and allow for some mistakes, you can still hit around 90,000 XP per hour. At maximum efficiency with no mistakes and a private instance, rates above 100,000 XP per hour are possible.

Looting coffins is the only way to earn hallowed marks and the profit that makes Sepulchre unique. The Grand Hallowed Coffin on Floor 5 is the big prize. At 92 Agility, you only need 66 Thieving (boostable) to open it. The current hourly profit from a Floor 5 run that includes the Grand Coffin is around 1,645,712 coins according to the wiki money making guide. If you add select Floor 4 coffins, profit can rise, but that costs extra time and lowers XP slightly.

You will need stamina potions. The obelisks that restore run energy are slower than drinking a stamina dose, and mistakes can leave you drained mid-floor. A Saradomin item must be equipped or the obelisks will not restore run energy properly. We recommend buying a few hundred stamina potions before committing to a long Sepulchre block.

Side-by-Side Comparison Table

Use this table to see the trade-off at a glance. The 'realistic XP/hr' column assumes you have learned the Sepulchre floors and are not making constant mistakes.

Hallowed Sepulchre Strategy: Floor-by-Floor Loot and XP Optimization

The Sepulchre has five floors, each with a set requirement and a base XP reward for completing all obstacles. The total XP for a full run through all five floors without looting is 11,700 XP, but the real gains come from optimizing which coffins to loot and which traps to skip. The table below breaks down the floor requirements, XP rewards, and recommended looting strategy.

FloorAgility Req.Floor XPRealistic Looting XP/hrNo Looting XP/hrRecommended Looting
15257530,00040,000Skip all coffins unless you need early hallowed marks
262925–93540,00050,000Skip all coffins
3721,60063,00071,700Loot only the portal frame coffin
4772,87573,00081,000Loot the enchant and bridge coffins if going for profit
5875,72575,800 (incl. same-floor loot)88,500Loot the Grand Hallowed Coffin only

At level 92 you have access to all five floors. For maximum XP, ignore all coffins on Floors 1–2, and only loot the portal frame on Floor 3 if you need a few extra hallowed marks. On Floor 4, the enchant and bridge coffins are worth looting only if you are chasing profit; they add roughly 900k GP/hr to your run but drop your XP by about 8,000 per hour. Floor 5 is where the Grand Hallowed Coffin sits behind a series of traps that require 66 Thieving (boostable) and other stats. Loot it every run and you will still sustain around 90,000 XP/hr with mistakes, even higher with perfect play.

The key to high XP is not just looting discipline, but also trap execution. The final two floors introduce flame traps, crossbow traps, and teleport pads that punish hesitation. Use a private instance (200 hallowed marks) to freeze the trap rotation so you can memorize the exact timing for each floor. After a few hours, the Sepulchre becomes muscle memory, and your XP rate climbs above Ardougne permanently.

Supplies and Setup

For Ardougne, your setup is nearly weightless. Equip a full graceful outfit or any weight-reducing gear, and bring summer pies if you want to eliminate the two fail gates. No stamina potions are needed because the rooftop course does not require energy restoration while training.

For Hallowed Sepulchre, build a dedicated inventory. You want a stack of stamina potions, a Saradomin item (such as a Saradomin godsword, holy symbol, or Saradomin prayer book), and any unlocked hallowed tools. The Saradomin item matters because the magical obelisks at the end of each floor restore run energy only if you are not wearing any non-Saradomin god gear. Avoid items with Armadyl or Bandos components. The first hallowed marks should go to the hallowed grapple (100 marks) because it guarantees pillar success. After that, the hallowed ring (250 marks) makes learning far less punishing by auto-saving you from failed obstacles. The hallowed focus, symbol, and hammer speed up portal frames, braziers, and bridges respectively. Dark dye and dark acorn are cosmetic goals for later.

Tip: Unlock a private instance for 200 hallowed marks as soon as you can. A private instance fixes the trap rotation, which makes floors predictable and increases your long-term XP rate. Predictability beats reaction time.

Drops and Rewards from Hallowed Sepulchre

The Sepulchre's profit comes from looting coffins, which yields two categories of rewards: hallowed marks and rollable loot. Hallowed marks are the currency for the Mysterious Hallowed Goods shop, while the Grand Hallowed Coffin on Floor 5 also rolls from a unique drop table shared with the Theatre of Blood, including runes, alchables, and the rare ring of endurance.

  • Hallowed marks: Used to buy hallowed tools and cosmetics. The first purchases should be the hallowed grapple (100 marks) and hallowed ring (250 marks). After that, the focus, symbol, and hammer speed up later floor obstacles. Dark dye and dark acorn are expensive cosmetic upgrades for recoloring graceful or turning the squirrel pet dark.
  • Hallowed crystal shard: A 1-mark teleport to the Sepulchre lobby. Buy a few, keep one banked for quick returns.
  • Grand Coffin loot: At 92 Agility with 66 Thieving, you can open the Grand Hallowed Coffin. It frequently drops runes, bolt tips, and alchables like rune items, plus a chance at the ring of endurance (worth millions) and the strange old lockpick (used for quick access to the Sepulchre). The hourly profit listed in the comparison table is a long-term average including these uniques.

Floors 1–3 coffins are not worth looting for profit, but if you need early hallowed marks for the ring, looting the Floor 3 portal frame coffin is acceptable. Never loot Floor 1 or 2 coffins once you have enough marks for the private instance.

Common Mistakes at 92-99 Agility

  • Looting every coffin at Sepulchre. Floors 1–3 coffins offer much lower profit and slow you down. Only loot the Grand Coffin on Floor 5, plus select Floor 4 coffins if you need extra GP.
  • Ignoring run energy. Sepulchre drains run constantly. If you rely on obelisks instead of stamina potions, one failed obstacle can cascade into a time-out.
  • Not boosting Ardougne obstacles. At 92 you still fail two gaps until 95. If you want true AFK, use summer pies to boost past 95 and remove the fail chance temporarily.
  • Using the wrong Saradomin item. Equip any non-Saradomin god item and the obelisks will drain your run instead of restoring it. Check your setup before entering.
  • Hoarding hallowed marks forever. The grapple and ring are quality-of-life upgrades that pay for themselves over 50+ hours. Buy them early.
  • Learning Sepulchre blind. Watch a floor guide or read a strategy page before entering. The traps are not intuitive, and one wrong step can cost a full floor of XP.
Warning: If you try to learn Sepulchre with full loot from floor 1 to 5, your XP will dip below Ardougne. Follow a floor-specific loot route from a strategy guide until you memorize the trap rotations.

Walkthrough: First Hour at Hallowed Sepulchre

If you are new to the Sepulchre, follow this sequence to avoid rage-quitting in the first hour.

  1. Complete Sins of the Father if you haven't. It unlocks the activity and gives you access to Darkmeyer. Carry a Saradomin item (blessed symbol, holy book, or Saradomin godsword) and at least 4 stamina potions.
  2. Enter the lobby and buy a hallowed crystal shard for 1 mark if you have any marks from earlier floors. Otherwise, start from Floor 1 to learn basic traps.
  3. Do a full floor 1–5 run without looting any coffins. Focus on learning trap timings and floor layouts. Expect to fail many times. Bring food (monkfish or better) because traps hit hard.
  4. After the first full run, check your hallowed marks. If you have 100, buy the hallowed grapple. If you have 200 after a few runs, buy the private instance from the Mysterious Stranger. This fixes the trap rotation, making future runs memorizable.
  5. Once private instance is unlocked, start looting the Grand Coffin on Floor 5. Boost Thieving if needed with a spicy stew or summer sq'irkjuice. Use stamina potions liberally; do not wait for the obelisk if you are below 50 run energy.
  6. Gradually add Floor 4 enchant and bridge coffins once you can complete Floor 5 without failing more than twice per run. Your XP will dip slightly, but profit jumps.

If you die or time out on a floor, you lose progress for that floor but keep marks from previous floors. Do not panic; the learning curve is steep but short.

Pet chance comparison: From level 92 to 99, the giant squirrel pet chance is roughly 15–18% on Ardougne (about 8,600 laps at 1 in 35,609 per lap) and about 12–15% on Sepulchre (based on per-floor completion chance). If you value the pet, Ardougne is slightly better because you complete many more laps per hour, but Sepulchre's profit may let you buy bonds to continue pet hunting later.

Time, Cost, and Honest Shortcuts

Ardougne is the steady grind: about 110 hours from 90 to 99 at maximum rate, so from 92 you are still in for most of a week of straight clicking at 70k XP/hr. The Sepulchre can shave dozens of hours off that total if you can sustain 90k+ XP/hr, but it demands active focus, quest completion, and learning multiple floors. The profit potential—1.6 million GP per hour while training—means you could finish 99 Agility with enough gold to fund buyable skills like Construction or Prayer.

This is where buying gold or a service becomes an honest shortcut. If you do not have Sins of the Father done, or you despise trap mechanics, paying for an Agility boost from 92 to 99 lets you skip the repetition entirely. Gold can also stock your bank with stamina potions, summer pies, and Saradomin items so you can start Sepulchre immediately. There is no rule against using in-game gold to save real-world time; that is what the Grand Exchange is for. When a grind stops being fun, offloading the boredom to a trusted service is the pragmatic choice.

Final Recommendation

If you value profit and are willing to learn the Sepulchre, go there from 92 onward. The XP per hour at Floor 5 is strictly better once you stop failing, and the Grand Coffin profit makes it one of the best training moneymakers in the game. If you want to watch movies, collect marks of grace, or keep your sanity, Ardougne remains the classic choice. Many players do a hybrid: run Ardougne on low-energy days and Sepulchre when you have full focus.

Start with 30 minutes of Sepulchre. Loot only the Grand Coffin, use stamina potions, and see if you can keep up. If the floor timers feel impossible, fall back to Ardougne and bank marks of grace for future hallowed dye. Either way, you are closer to 99 than you think.

Frequently asked questions

Is Hallowed Sepulchre better XP than Ardougne rooftop at 92 Agility?

Yes, with practice. Hallowed Sepulchre Floor 5 gives around 90,000 XP/hr when looting only the Grand Coffin, and up to 100,000+ XP/hr at maximum efficiency. Ardougne rooftop maxes at about 70,000 XP/hr. Sepulchre requires much more attention and quest completion, but the XP difference is substantial.

What are the requirements for Hallowed Sepulchre?

You need completion of Sins of the Father, 52 Agility to enter, and 87 Agility for Floor 5. To loot the Grand Hallowed Coffin you need 66 Thieving (boostable). You also need 56 Construction, 54 Prayer, 7 Magic, and 62 Ranged for auxiliary obstacles, plus a Saradomin item for obelisks.

Can I loot the Grand Hallowed Coffin with 92 Agility and 66 Thieving?

Yes. At 92 Agility you need 66 Thieving to open the Grand Coffin. If you only have 84 Thieving instead, you can open it at 87 Agility. The Thieving level is boostable, so you can use a temporary boost to save supplies.

How long does 92-99 Agility take at Ardougne vs Sepulchre?

Ardougne rooftop takes roughly 110 hours from level 90 to 99, so from 92 you still have many dozens of hours at 70k XP/hr. Sepulchre at 90-100k XP/hr can cut that total by 30-40 hours or more, assuming high focus and few failures. The exact time depends on efficiency.

Do I need to complete Sins of the Father for Sepulchre?

Yes. Hallowed Sepulchre is locked behind Sins of the Father, which itself requires a long quest chain in Morytania. If you haven't completed it, you cannot access the activity. Ardougne rooftop has no quest requirement, so it remains available immediately.

Should I buy hallowed marks items first?

Yes. Spend your first 100 hallowed marks on the hallowed grapple to guarantee pillar success. After that, the hallowed ring (250 marks) is excellent for learning because it prevents damage and saves time on failures. The focus, symbol, and hammer speed up other obstacles.

Is Ardougne rooftop still worth it after 92 for marks of grace?

Yes, Ardougne remains the most reliable rooftop course for marks of grace at high levels. If you need marks for graceful recolors or hallowed dye, or you want a low-focus training method, Ardougne is still a solid choice despite the lower XP compared to Sepulchre.
