If you think of Agility training as running laps until your fingers cramp, the Brimhaven Agility Arena is the weird cousin that asks you to play tag with glowing pillars. It doesn't hand out marks of grace like rooftop courses do, but for a specific slice of the mid-game it can be the fastest Agility XP in Gielinor—and it's one of the only places to grind Brimhaven vouchers for a graceful recolour. This guide breaks down the ticket rates, the Karamja gloves bonuses, and how to decide between Brimhaven and Canifis when your real goal is the graceful outfit.

Who This Is For, Requirements, and Getting There

Brimhaven isn't a universal training ground. It shines for players between level 20 and 47 Agility who want faster XP than the low-level rooftop courses, and for anyone who already owns graceful and wants the dark blue recolour. If you're still hunting the base graceful set, you'll need marks of grace from rooftop courses—more on that later.

Requirements
  • 200 coins entry fee, paid to Cap'n Izzy No-Beard every time you enter
  • No Agility level required to enter, but level 20 Agility is needed to pass pressure pads and floor spikes; level 40 Agility is needed for spinning blades and darts
  • Karamja gloves 2, 3, or 4 strongly recommended for a 10% XP bonus
  • Weight-reducing gear and run energy restoration make the grind much smoother

The arena has no quest requirements and is accessible from the moment you can pay the 200 coins. That said, trying to navigate the whole course below level 40 is a recipe for constant failures and damage, so most players wait until at least level 20 for the floor spike method or level 40 for full access.

Getting there is simple once you know the routes. The fastest options are a diary cape teleport to Pirate Jackie the Fruit, or a spirit tree to Brimhaven if you've unlocked it. From the Brimhaven docks, run west and slightly south to find Cap'n Izzy No-Beard. Pay him 200 coins and you're in. Keep in mind that logging out while inside the arena will kick you out, and you'll have to pay the fee again to re-enter. There is also a short waiting period before you can re-enter after logging out, so plan your sessions accordingly. Bring extra coins if you think you might disconnect.

How the Arena Works: Dispensers, Pillars, Obstacles

The Brimhaven Agility Arena is built around 25 pillars, and 24 of them contain a Ticket Dispenser. Every minute, one dispenser activates. Your job is to reach that active pillar by crossing agility obstacles, then tag the dispenser. Each successful tag awards one Agility arena ticket and one Brimhaven voucher, plus a chunk of Agility XP based on your level.

The XP from tagging a dispenser scales with your Agility level: 30 XP for every 10 levels, up to 300 XP at a boosted level of 100. This means at level 40 you get 120 XP per tag, at level 80 you get 240 XP, and so on. Note that this tag XP is not increased by Karamja gloves, but the obstacle XP and ticket exchange XP are.

Obstacles connect the pillars. The floor spike obstacle can be repeated indefinitely, which is the foundation of the low-effort training method. Players who just want AFK Agility XP often spam the floor spikes without ever chasing the active dispenser.

AFK vs Active: Two Ways to Train

There are two main playstyles at Brimhaven: the low-effort floor-spike loop and the high-effort dispenser-chasing method. Your choice changes your XP per hour, tickets per hour, and how much attention you need to pay.

MethodAttentionAgility XP/hrTickets/hrNotes
Floor spikes only (click same tile)Very low~36,0000Requires level 20 Agility, use summer pie to boost if below 20. No tickets, so no vouchers or reward XP.
Tag every dispenser passivelyMedium~28,000–35,000~60 (max)Only traverse obstacles to reach active pillar; XP from tags + ticket exchange. No extra obstacle spam.
Tag dispensers + spam floor spikes during downtimeHigh~45,000–50,000~60Best balance at level 40–47; use Karamja gloves for 10% extra obstacle XP.

The floor spike method is deceptively powerful. Because failure damage scales with current Hitpoints, keeping your HP around 20 reduces damage taken, making it easy to sustain with cheap food like chocolate cakes or baskets of strawberries. You can even use the "Detached Camera" plugin to click a single tile repeatedly, turning it into a semi-AFK activity.

Active play, where you chase every dispenser and fill downtime with floor spike jumps, is the most efficient XP and the only way to earn vouchers for rewards. It's also more engaging, but it demands constant attention for the best rates.

Karamja Gloves and XP Boosts

The Karamja gloves are the single biggest upgrade you can bring to Brimhaven. Tier 2, 3, or 4 gloves give a 10% bonus to Agility XP from obstacles and from exchanging tickets—but not from tagging the dispenser itself. That means with gloves, the 345 XP per ticket becomes 379.5 XP, and every obstacle you cross rewards an extra 10%.

If you've completed the elite Karamja Diary, you also gain a 10% chance to receive two tickets and two vouchers from each tag. Over an hour of perfect tagging, that's roughly 66 tickets instead of 60, adding about 2,277 extra XP per hour from ticket exchanges alone. The double-ticket chance is tied to the elite diary only—wearing Karamja gloves 4 by itself does not give double tickets.

Other useful boosts: summer pies restore run energy and boost Agility by +5, which helps counteract the dart obstacle's -2 Agility drain on failure. Agility potions are a cheaper alternative if you don't need the healing. Always keep your weight at 0 or below to preserve run energy.

Tip: Bring a few summer pies even if you're using the AFK floor spike method. The +5 boost can push you into a higher XP bracket for tag XP and reduces how often you fail the darts if you wander into them.

Rewards: Tickets, Vouchers, and the Graceful Recolour

Each tag drops an Agility arena ticket and a Brimhaven voucher. Tickets are your XP currency: exchange them with Pirate Jackie the Fruit for 345 Agility XP each (379.5 with Karamja gloves 2+). Vouchers are your item currency, and the headline reward is the graceful outfit recolour.

The recolour costs 250 Brimhaven vouchers. At the maximum rate of 60 vouchers per hour, that's a little over four hours of perfect active tagging—or about 3.8 hours with elite diary's double-ticket chance. Note that Pirate Jackie the Fruit will not recolour graceful pieces that have already been upgraded to a different style, so plan your fashion carefully.

Vouchers also buy other items: Toadflax, Snapdragon, Amylase packs, and the coveted Pirate's hook. If you're not interested in the recolour, vouchers can be converted into herbs or amylase for profit, though the GE prices fluctuate—always check the wiki's live prices before making that decision.

Brimhaven vs Canifis Rooftop: Which is Faster for Graceful?

Here's the part most players get wrong: Brimhaven does not give you the graceful outfit itself. The base graceful set is purchased with marks of grace from rooftop courses. Brimhaven vouchers only recolour an existing graceful set. So if you're starting from zero, you still need to run rooftops—especially Canifis, which is the go-to from level 40 to 60 for marks of grace.

The comparison depends on your goal:

GoalBrimhaven ArenaCanifis Rooftop
Base graceful outfitNot available; you need marks from rooftops firstStandard source of marks of grace from level 40–60; check wiki for exact rates
Graceful recolour250 vouchers (~4 hours of active tagging)Not available at Canifis; recolours come from specific activities like Brimhaven
Agility XP/hr at level 40–47Up to 45,000–50,000 active; 36,000 AFKLower than Brimhaven active play; rooftop XP scales but generally below Brimhaven's potential
Attention requiredLow to high depending on methodModerate; running laps, but no tick-perfect timing needed

If your only goal is the graceful outfit, stick to Canifis rooftops until you've collected enough marks. Then, if you want the Brimhaven recolour, head to the arena and grind the 250 vouchers. If your goal is fast Agility XP from 20–47, Brimhaven is often the fastest route—but you'll be sacrificing marks of grace entirely.

Common Mistakes and How to Avoid Them

Brimhaven punishes unprepared players. These are the errors that cost time, coins, and hitpoints.

  • Forgetting coins: The 200 coin fee is paid every entry. Logging out or leaving resets it. Keep a stack in your inventory.
  • No food: Failing obstacles deals damage based on your current hitpoints. Stay around 20 HP and eat small foods like chocolate cakes to minimize damage.
  • No run energy: Constant running is required. Bring stamina potions or energy-restoring items, and keep weight at 0 or lower.
  • Ignoring Karamja gloves: Missing the 10% XP bonus is a massive loss over time. Even tier 2 gloves make a difference.
  • Expecting base graceful from vouchers: Vouchers only recolour, they don't buy graceful pieces. Don't grind 250 vouchers only to discover you have nothing to recolour.
  • Logging out inside: You'll be kicked out and have to pay again. Use a bank if you need to step away.
Warning: The dart obstacle drains Agility by 2 levels on a failed pass. If you're below the threshold for another obstacle, carry summer pies or agility potions to restore your level, or you'll be stuck failing repeatedly.

Time to Goal and When to Buy Gold or a Service

Let's put some numbers on the grind. From level 20 to 47 Agility is roughly 70,657 XP. At the AFK floor-spike rate of 36,000 XP/hr, that's about two hours. Active play with tagging and floor spikes at 45,000–50,000 XP/hr cuts it to under 1.5 hours. For the 250 vouchers needed for a graceful recolour, you're looking at around four hours of perfect active tagging, or longer if you miss dispensers.

If your goal is the base graceful outfit from rooftops and then a recolour, the total time balloons because you still need marks of grace from Canifis. This is where buying gold or a service can be an honest time-saver. Buying gold lets you fund stamina potions, summer pies, and decent food without spending time making money. A boosting service can train the Agility levels and collect the vouchers for you while you're offline—though you should always verify the provider's reputation and understand the risks involved.

Time vs Money: If you value your playtime at more than a few million GP per hour, buying gold to cover supplies or paying for an agility boost often beats grinding the same repetitive obstacle for hours. Just be aware that account sharing or service purchases carry risks; check the wiki and your own comfort level before committing. View live gold rates.

Practical Next Steps

  1. Stock up: at least 1,000 coins, Karamja gloves 2+ if you have them, summer pies or agility potions, and stamina potions.
  2. Decide your method: AFK floor spikes for pure XP, active tagging for tickets and vouchers, or a hybrid.
  3. Enter the arena and find the floor spikes if AFKing; otherwise, watch for the yellow arrow that marks the active dispenser each minute.
  4. Tag every dispenser you can reach, then fill downtime with floor spike jumps.
  5. Exchange tickets for XP as you go, and save vouchers toward the graceful recolour or other rewards.

The Brimhaven Agility Arena is a niche, but within that niche it's unbeatable for a certain window of levels and for the recolour grind. Master the route, wear your Karamja gloves, and you'll be surprised how quickly the tickets pile up.

Frequently asked questions

How many tickets per hour at Brimhaven Agility Arena?

At best, you can tag one active dispenser per minute, giving 60 tickets and 60 vouchers per hour. If you have completed the elite Karamja Diary, you have a 10% chance for double tickets, raising the expected total to about 66 per hour.

Do Karamja gloves increase Brimhaven ticket rewards?

Karamja gloves 2, 3, or 4 do not increase the number of tickets you receive, but they grant a 10% Agility XP bonus on obstacles and on ticket exchanges. The elite diary is what provides the 10% chance for double tickets and vouchers.

Is Brimhaven Agility Arena better than Canifis for graceful?

It depends on your goal. Brimhaven is faster for Agility XP and gives vouchers for a graceful recolour, but it does not award marks of grace needed to buy the base graceful outfit. Canifis rooftop is the standard source for marks from level 40 to 60.

What level do you need for Brimhaven Agility Arena?

There is no Agility level requirement to enter the arena itself; you only need 200 coins for the entry fee. However, level 20 Agility is required to pass the pressure pad and floor spike obstacles, and level 40 is required for spinning blades and darts.

Can you AFK Brimhaven Agility Arena?

Yes, you can semi-AFK by repeatedly crossing the floor spikes on the same tile. This gives around 36,000 Agility XP per hour at level 20+, but you will not earn tickets or vouchers because you aren't tagging active dispensers.

What do Brimhaven vouchers buy?

Brimhaven vouchers can be exchanged with Pirate Jackie the Fruit for items like Toadflax, Snapdragon, Amylase packs, a Pirate's hook, and the graceful outfit recolour. The recolour costs 250 vouchers for the full set.

How long does it take to get 250 vouchers for graceful recolour?

At the maximum rate of 60 vouchers per hour, earning 250 vouchers takes just over 4 hours of perfect active tagging. With the elite Karamja Diary's 10% double-ticket chance, the expected time drops to about 3.8 hours.
